The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. This stretch of Chiwawa River in Chelan County is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking
| in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Chiwawa River frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, typically in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's while Chiwawa River overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 30's. Chiwawa River generally gets much rain; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest month of the year is July.
