Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon     trip. The scenic beauty of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Christmas Creek in Washington is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+(IV) section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is the only paddling section along Christmas Creek. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime months at Christmas Creek highs are generally in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Christmas Creek are in the 30's. Rocky Rapids is always fun to check   out. Christmas Creek is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls through December; the driest of the months is August.
