The Goat Creek to FR 2160 section of Cispus River in Lewis County is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This stretch     has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Briefly about the general area: Through the days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Cispus River. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Cispus River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Hiking along the Lily Basin Trail is glorious fun, and you   can have a fine hiking adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 24. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Northern Cascade Range. Cispus River is a pretty wet place regularly with a great deal of rainfall; during January this area sees the most snow, and July is when it's the driest.
