This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. No matter     if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: There are pleasant locations to explore along the Lily Basin Trail, and you can go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 24. Cispus River is a wet site that gets a lot of rainfall; during January this area sees the most snow; the driest of the months is July. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to   the Northern Cascade Range. The warmest time of the year at Cispus River comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are usually in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Cispus River temperatures fall to the 20's.
