If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Lewis County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you have the time you can make this a two day
trip, so pack your camp stove. The Road 28 Bridge to Scanewa Reservoir section of Cispus River is 20.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of
people. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The campgrounds here at Cispus River are pretty good.
Briefly about the general area: All through the warm months highs here at Cispus River get into the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows
in the 30's to Cispus River. The high level of precipitation makes Cispus River a reasonably wet site; all through December this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
