This section of Cle Elum River in Kittitas County is 8.5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. glad you came. There's camping available near Cle Elum River. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are some good stretches to
paddle in this river system, the Scatter Creek to Salmon La Sac Creek stretch is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great.

highs are in the 60's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Cle Elum River. Cle Elum River is a wet location that gets a large amount of precipitation;
the month with most of the snow is January, and July is when it's the driest. Be careful coming to the Northern Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Going for a hike on the Jolly Mountain Lookout Trail is always a fine adventure.
