Kittitas
county,
Salmon La Sac Creek to Cle Elum Reservoir section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 4 miles
The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This section of Cle Elum River is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Salmon La Sac Creek to Cle Elum Reservoir section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. A bit of exercise and
a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The natural beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Cle Elum River make the trip here worthwhile.
