The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you're coming from Port Angeles it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The Clearwater Campground to 144 Gross
Bridge stretch of Clearwater River in Jefferson County is 10.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that
rivers here are less forgiving. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came.
