The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section of Cooper River in Kittitas County is 1.5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but
you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This is the only paddling stretch along Cooper River. This is a pretty
short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.
Briefly about the general area: At Cooper River during the days of summer highs are in the 60's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. some time aside to spend at Little Salmon la Sac while you're here at Cooper River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cooper River a wet location; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer.
