CLASS IV-V     1.5 miles
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Waterfall to Cle Elum River section of Cooper River in Washington is 1.5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking,
either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Cooper River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Waterfall to Cle Elum River section is the only one. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. The nature scenery of Kittitas County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here.
