The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The road's end to East Fork Lewis section of Copper Creek in Skamania/Clark County is 6.1 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can
camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There are no other sections to paddle along Copper Creek than the road's end to East Fork Lewis section. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
Briefly about the general area: At Copper Creek during the summertime highs are in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Copper Creek. Copper Creek gets lots of water; through the month of December you get the most rain around here; July meanwhile is the driest month.
