The wonderful Washington scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Cowlitz River - Clear Fork in Lewis County is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. This is one of a
small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
