This stretch of Cowlitz River - Clear Fork in Washington is 5 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Lewis County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. On this section you do get some
distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds
nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The Lava Creek to La Wis Wis Campground section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience.
