county,
Blair Road to Skagit River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV-V(V+) 5 miles
The scenic beauty of Skagit County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. This stretch of Day Creek in Washington is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V(V+) section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting
and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Blair Road to Skagit River section is the only paddling section along Day Creek.
