Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Fisher Creek to Tye River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Deception Creek. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then     no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Fisher Creek to Tye River section of Deception Creek is 6.5 miles long and has been rated as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Deception Creek during the warmest time of the year are in the 60's; the overnight is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Deception   Creek. Deception Creek is a wet place that gets much precipitation; all through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is July.
