This section of Deer Creek in Washington is 11 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. places. There's camping available near Deer Creek. The natural beauty of Snohomish/Skagit County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. The starting location is a reasonable
drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, as you can see on the road map further down. Deer Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Bridge at Rick Creek to mouth stretch is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here.
