The Bridge at Rick Creek to mouth section of Deer Creek is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the sparkling of
the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This is the only paddling stretch along Deer Creek. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The starting
location is a reasonable drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
