The Vail Loop Road to Military Road section of Deschutes River in Washington is 9.3 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Centralia, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water beats anything. There are no other sections to paddle along Deschutes River than the Vail Loop Road to Military Road section. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If
you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. You might be into whitewater
rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. The campgrounds here at Deschutes River are pretty good.
