If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. A bit of     exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Dosewallips Falls to Elkhorn Campground section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. The Dosewallips Falls to Elkhorn Campground stretch of Dosewallips River is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Dosewallips River gets very little rain; throughout December this area sees the most rain; July   meanwhile is the driest month. You might want to pay a visit to Bull Elk Canyon while you're here at Dosewallips River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Dosewallips River. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Dosewallips River.
