The wonderful Snohomish County scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a very short section so no need to bring snacks. The Downey Creek trail to Suiattle River section of Downey Creek in Snohomish County is 1 miles long and has been
determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Downey Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Downey Creek trail to Suiattle River section is the only one.

neighborhood; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Meadow Mountain Trail. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Downey Creek are in the 30's.
