The 2515 Bridge to Highway 101 stretch of Duckabush River in Jefferson County is 6.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Shelton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves
down the stream will make you feel great. The campgrounds here at Duckabush River are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The 2515 Bridge to Highway 101 section is the only paddling section along Duckabush River. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
