Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Gold Creek to Dungeness Forks Campground section of Dungeness River in Clallam County is 3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some
good walking shoes. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.
The scenic beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So much cool stuff to do here in the Olympic Mountains, too brilliant to be true. Going for a hike along the Clink Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if the weather is brilliant,
you can go for a hike along the Tubal Cain Mine Trail. For the duration of the long summer days here at Dungeness River, high temperatures frequently reach the 60's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Dungeness River dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights.
