Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Dungeness River in Washington is 5.5 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Clallam County and the water flowing gracefully down Dungeness River have people coming here. There's camping available near Dungeness River. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river,
but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. On this section you do get some distance,
it's perfect for a one day trip. The Dungeness Forks Campground to hatchery stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
Briefly about the general area: Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Olympic Mountains. At Dungeness River during the summertime months highs are in the 60's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets
highs in the 40's with temperatures at Dungeness River dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. Dungeness River is a location that is quite dried up ordinarily; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. The Clink Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Tubal Cain Mine Trail.
