The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful King County scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The King County Park behind Boeing stretch is the only paddling stretch along Duwamish River. This section of Duwamish     River in King County is 0.1 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Through the warm months at Duwamish River highs are frequently in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and night lows   through the winter for Duwamish River tend to be in the 30's. Pritchett Island Beach is a beach close to Duwamish River that you can check out. The amount of precipitation that falls at Duwamish River is close to the national average; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. Beaches are delightful; and Brighton Beach next to Duwamish River is no exception, and Duwamish River is not far at all from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue.
