The starting location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Duwamish River than the King County Park behind Boeing section. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This section of Duwamish River is 0.1 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Beaches are great; and Brighton Beach near Duwamish River is no exception. Pritchett Island Beach is a beach near Duwamish River that you can take a look at, and Duwamish River is not far at all from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue. The amount of rainfall that falls at Duwamish River is close to the   national average; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Duwamish River, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Duwamish River dip into the 30's.
