This stretch of Elochoman River is 11 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III+ section. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the
river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You can enjoy
this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. There are no other sections to paddle along Elochoman River than the North Fork to Beaver Creek hatchery section.
