Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Wenatchee it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Lake Creek Campground to National Forest boundary stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.
