This section of Finney Creek in Skagit County is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The
scenic beauty of Washington and the playfulness of the water beats anything. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area
has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There's camping available near Finney Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is the only paddling stretch along Finney Creek. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip.

Trail, and nearby you'll find a wooded neighborhood called Mount Baker National Forest. And that's not everything you can do here in the Northern Cascade Range. While you're here at Finney Creek you can take a hike along the Finney Peak Trail. At Finney Creek through the months
of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Finney Creek. Finney Creek typically gets lots of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
