The FR 68 Bridge to Highway 2 bridge stretch of Foss River is 4.9 miles long and it is classified as a class IV+ section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great
campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Foss River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the FR 68 Bridge
to Highway 2 bridge section is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
