The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The put-in is not too far from Longview-Kelso, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting some good     exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Germany Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Road 1300 to end of county road section is the only one. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Cowlitz County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the warm months highs here at Germany Creek get into the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in   the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Germany Creek. The high level of precipitation makes Germany Creek a relatively wet spot; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
