CLASS III-IV 3.5 miles
The FR 39 Bridge to National Forest Nooksack stretch of Glacier Creek is 3.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. If you're coming from Mount Vernon-Anacortes it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Whatcom County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.
There are no other sections to paddle along Glacier Creek than the FR 39 Bridge to National Forest Nooksack section. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The campgrounds here at Glacier Creek are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable.
