  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Beebe Creek to Panther Creek section of Granite Creek in Whatcom County is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The nature scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging
    out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. No matter
if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Beebe Creek to Panther Creek section is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
For the duration of the summertime months at Granite Creek highs are typically in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come
 
with lows in the 20's to Granite Creek. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Granite Creek called the Jack Mountain Trail.
Granite Creek is a pretty wet place generally with lots of rain; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest of the months is July.
