This section of Granite Creek in Whatcom County is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If
you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Beebe Creek to Panther Creek stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The beauty of
the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The nature scenery of Whatcom County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.
Briefly about the general area: Throughout the long summer days here at Granite Creek, high temperatures generally get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime
temperatures at Granite Creek drop into the 20's. Granite Creek is a quite wet place typically with a good deal of precipitation; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Going for a hike on the Jack Mountain Trail is always a perfect adventure.
