Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Green River in Washington is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There
are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Green
River Gorge stretch is just one of many. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 70's to Green River, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 30's
overnight here at Green River. Green River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
