The scenic beauty of Cowlitz County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. This stretch of Green River in Washington is 11.7 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The put-in location is a short drive
from Longview-Kelso, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can enjoy this
section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The Cascade Creek to gaging station section is the only paddling section along Green River.

when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Green River temperatures are mostly in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Green River.
