If you're coming from Shelton it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Washington scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind     that rivers here are less forgiving. The Boulder Creek to Hamma Hamma Campground section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. For the duration of the summertime highs here at Hamma Hamma River get into the 60's; the nighttime is quite colder of course, usually in the 50's.
