Washington whitewater - Hangman Creek, Spokane/Whitman County
Spokane/Whitman
county,
Upper section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III+(IV) 10 miles
The starting point is not too far from Spokane, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Spokane/Whitman County and the water flowing gracefully down Hangman Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states,
so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Upper section is one of them. The nearby hotels
are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that.
