The Upper stretch of Hangman Creek is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III+(IV) section of whitewater. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. This stretch has enough mileage     for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Spokane, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
