The beautiful scenery of Spokane County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Hangman Creek in Washington is 7.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. If you're coming from Spokane it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places.
There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Lower stretch is one of them. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.

Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Hangman Creek. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's;
nighttime lows in the 20's for Hangman Creek. It is very dried out here at Hangman Creek typically; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
