This stretch of Icicle Creek is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Great exercise and spending some quality     time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The put-in location is a short drive from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Icicle Creek through the summertime are in the 60's with night lows in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures   at Icicle Creek drop into the 10's. Icicle Creek is a quite wet place typically with a large amount of rainfall; through January this area sees the most snow; the driest month is July.
