Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The to Rockport-Cascade Road section of Illabot Creek is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The beautiful scenery of Skagit County and the water flowing gracefully down Illabot Creek have people coming here. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Illabot
Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the to Rockport-Cascade Road section is the only one. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
