The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The scenic beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Illabot Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the to Rockport-Cascade Road stretch is the only one. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to
get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade
Range is great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. The to Rockport-Cascade Road stretch of Illabot Creek is 5 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.

temperatures usually get into the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Illabot Creek temperatures dip to the 30's.
