If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wonderful Washington scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch of Jackman River is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure
to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Jackman River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the mile 6 to mile 1 section is the only one. The
beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip.
Briefly about the general area: Through the warm months, highs frequently are in the 70's at Jackman River with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows at Jackman River through the winter usually sink into the 30's. Jackman River gets a good deal of water; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
