The scenic beauty of Snohomish County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. If you're coming from Mount Vernon-Anacortes it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Naval Station to South Fork Stillaguamish section of Jim Creek in Washington is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the
river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Jim Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Naval Station to South Fork Stillaguamish section is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has
a large number of paddling spots. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There's camping available near Jim Creek. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience.
