Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Glacier Creek to Highway 12 stretch of Johnson Creek in Lewis County is 7.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added
bonus. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. And of course,
there are campgrounds nearby. The Glacier Creek to Highway 12 section is the only paddling section along Johnson Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that.
