Leidl Campground to Klickitat Springs section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 16.2 miles
The put-in location is a reasonable drive from City of The Dalles, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Leidl Campground to Klickitat Springs section of Klickitat River in Klickitat County is 16.2 miles long
and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive
a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The natural beauty of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.
