The Klickitat Springs to Fishing Access section of Klickitat River is 10.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Klickitat Springs to Fishing Access section is just one of them. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for
more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Klickitat River are reasons enough
to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from City of The Dalles, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience.
