Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. This stretch of Lake Creek is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. You might be     into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other stretches to paddle along Lake Creek than the along FR 400 stretch. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summertime, highs usually are in the 60's at Lake Creek. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Lake Creek.
