The wonderful Chelan County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby
hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section of Lake Creek in Chelan County is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so you'll
have to walk back to the start over and over. Lake Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the along FR 400 section is the only one. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Lake Creek all through the days of summer are in the 60's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are frequently in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Lake Creek. Lake Creek regularly gets a good deal of precipitation; through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July.
