If you're coming from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. This section of Lewis River - East Fork is 2.7 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Rock Creek to Moulton
Falls Park section is just one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more
challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
