The put-in location is a short drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels     fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Moulton Falls to Lewisville Park section is just one of many. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nature scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area:   At Lewis River - East Fork through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Lewis River - East Fork. Much rainfall falls at Lewis River - East Fork; December is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is July. A short trip to Lucia Falls is always worthwhile.
