county,
Lewisville Park to Daybreak Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 3 miles
*WARNING* Lewisville Pk to DayBreak on July 2, 2009. Water very low and very rocky using tubes and raft. Had to get out often and dislodge from rocks or walk over river rock. Had to walk from 1/4 sign to Daybreak all the way out and was VERY UNHAPPY. Walk was actually about a mile to parking area over river rock and then very narrow trail. Trails not marked if you have to get out and walk because water was TOO low (only a few inches deep). Would have appreciated uptodate info at booth at Lewisville entrance. Was told rafting was fine to Daybreak. Trip
took 5.5 hours and was told it would take 2.5. Says Kim
This stretch of Lewis River - East Fork in Clark County is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water
are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are so many stretches
to paddle in this river system, the Lewisville Park to Daybreak Park stretch is just one of many. If you're coming from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a
bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
