This stretch of Lewis River - North Fork is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state
are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.
The Twin Falls to FR 88 section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The campgrounds here at Lewis River - North Fork are pretty good. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
