  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Lewis River - North Fork in Washington is 4.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or
    kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are so many sections to paddle in this
river system, the FR 9039 to Swift Reservoir section is just one of many. The beautiful scenery of Cowlitz County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
So many entertaining things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too fine to be true. High temperatures at Lewis River - North Fork throughout the summer are in the 70's;
