The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The Olsen Road to Klickitat River section of Little Klickitat River in Washington is 9.7 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature     have people coming from far and near. If you're coming from City of The Dalles it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Little Klickitat River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Olsen Road to Klickitat River stretch is the only one. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Little Klickitat River is a good place   of normal rain; the month with most of the snow is December; the driest month of the year is July. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Little Klickitat River with overnight lows in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Little Klickitat River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
