If you're coming from City of The Dalles it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Little Klickitat River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other
states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
