Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Boulder Creek to Washougal River stretch of Little Washougal River is 6.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III(IV) section. No need to look hard for hotels, but     do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, as you can see on the road map further down. There's camping available near Little Washougal River. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Boulder Creek to Washougal River section is one of them. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Little Washougal River sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is the month with the least moisture.   Throughout the days of summer at Little Washougal River highs are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's while Little Washougal River nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's.
