The nature scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The put-in is not too far from Hood River, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere,
so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle,
good for a one day paddling trip. This stretch of Little White Salmon River is 5.5 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other stretches to paddle along Little White Salmon River than the Willard to Columbia River stretch. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great.

December, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is July. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Nestor Peak Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Little White Salmon River while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's.
Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Little White Salmon River temperatures sink to the 30's.
