Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. added bonus. Lost River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Drake Creek to Methow River confluence stretch is the only one. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section of Lost River in Okanogan County is 12 miles long and is according to
American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the summer here at Lost River, high temperatures usually get into the 80's; the nighttime is a bit colder of course, regularly in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Lost River
throughout the wintertime typically dip into the 10's. Lost River gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the snow is December; July meanwhile is the driest month. The Monument Creek Trail offers hiking at its best.
