  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Okanogan County and the water flowing gracefully down Lost River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with
    plenty of spots for that. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. The Drake Creek to Methow River confluence stretch is the only paddling stretch along Lost River. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short
distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Drake Creek to Methow River confluence stretch of Lost River in Washington is 12 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section.

Briefly about the general area:
Through the warm months at Lost River highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Lost River nighttime
 
low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Not much rain falls here at Lost River; during the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July is the month with the least moisture.
Take a hike on the Monument Creek Trail.
