The North Fork to FR 21 Bridge stretch of Matheny Creek in Jefferson County is 9 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV+ section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if
you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large
